We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic school in North Tyneside. For this job, the ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and will have a passion for making a positive difference in their lives.
Your new role
- Supporting the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons that meet the individual needs of SEND pupils.
- Providing one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEND, helping them to access the curriculum and make progress.
- Monitoring and tracking pupils' progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
- Participating in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience working with children with SEND is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to SEND.
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
- Relevant qualifications would be advantageous, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or a relevant degree.
What you'll get in return
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, and it is a long-term assignment starting in September. Competitive day rate based on experience.
