Trading Manager

WWT Washington Wetland Centre is an urban wetland, protecting wetland wildlife and being a haven for all life since 1975. It's a place of excitement, belonging and kindness and we are seeking a manager who will lead the trading team here in providing an unrivalled welcome and generating vital income for our charity.
About The Role
You will lead the team in ensuring all visitors understand what is special about this place and its wetlands, what wetlands can do for us and what people can do to protect this under threat habitat.
Overseeing catering, retail, admissions and membership commercial functions, this role offers the opportunity to mould our trading operation to your vision of excellence.
About You
To join as our Trading Manager:
- You'll be educated to A level or equivalent and to a minimum of food hygiene level 3, with proven experience in a similar trading role
- You'll bring with you strong commercial experience and the drive to establish high standards across customer service, food safety and maximisation of KPIs.
- You'll understand seasonal fluctuations of demand and product and maximise controls and offer accordingly to produce the best financial results
- You'll be an exceptional leader who confidently supports their team to understand what good looks like and deliver this in all they do, taking appropriate actions when standards are not met
- You will have creativity plus an understanding of how to embed strong systems of work that make delivery rewarding and fun for a team.
