My client, a well-established engine manufacturing business in the procurement supply chain sector, is seeking a Supply Chain Controller to join their team in Shoreham-by-Sea. This permanent role involves managing a diverse global supply chain for a high-end, niche product for a leading supercar manufacturer. The successful candidate will replace a team member promoted internally, taking on responsibilities in both purchasing and material control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a number of suppliers within a global supply chain
- Ordering and expediting engine components
- Collaborating with other functions to resolve technical and quality concerns
- Visiting suppliers for business reviews in the UK and overseas
- Supporting the creation of supplier delivery schedules
- Resolving commercial issues
- Managing the supply of engine components to an external customer base
- Providing purchase order administration support
- Assisting with continuous improvement of purchasing processes
Job Requirements:
Essential:
- Experience in supplier management
- Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
- Advanced Microsoft Office user, particularly Excel
- Effective communication skills
- Availability to travel overseas with sufficient notice
- Relevant purchasing experience
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and listening skills
- Full driving licence
Desirable:
- Previous user of LN Infor ERP system
- Experience in supplier scheduling
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Experience in purchasing within the automotive sector
- Project management experience
