Transport Planner
Mid Kent
£28k - £32k DOE
9am - 7pm Monday - Friday
1 in 5 Saturday cover - 7am - 12pm
My client is looking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful, leading company, working in a busy and fast paced environment. Duties include:
- Operating vehicles ensuring optimisation of revenue whilst taking into account customer requirements and legal restrictions on driver hours and other relevant legislation
- Maintain TMS to ensure all details entered are accurate and completed in full
- Maintain good working relationships with customers and keeping a consistent flow of communication
- Accurate recording of delivery failures and rebooks, ensuring all appropriate additional revenues are captured and reported to relevant people
- Production of accurate reports and KPI's
- Following compliance processes relating to vehicle and trailer maintenance
- Chasing and adjusting customer deliveries whenever necessary
- Liaising with internal and external customers to plan their deliveries in accordance, whilst ensuring the vehicles are maximised
- Driver briefs and debriefs
- Proactively work to reduce late deliveries and missed time slots
- Ability to work quickly and multitask is essential
- Awareness of all transport regulations to adhere to Operational compliance levels with regards to driver tachograph and vehicle servicing requirements
- Ensure agency drivers are fully inducted before engaging on to work
- Providing support to colleagues and management where appropriate
- Creation of management information and reports
- To ensure that all assets are fully in service and MOT before being released for work
