Randstad Education is currently looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN TA to join one of our welcoming primary schools in Plymouth on a long term basis and is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join the team in nurturing the unique abilities of every child.

This role is available on a full time basis to begin ASAP!

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in providing tailored support and guidance to students with special educational needs, ensuring they have the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Responsibilities for the role includes:

  • Provide individualised support to students with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement personalised learning plans and interventions that meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem through positive reinforcement, encouragement, and praise.
  • Advocate for the rights and interests of students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the support and resources they need to thrive.

Toolkit Required for the role:

  • Right to work in the UK

  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service

  • Must Provide 2 proven professional references

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs in an educational setting, with a compassionate and patient approach.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • A flexible and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to learn and collaborate in a dynamic school environment.

  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs, such as CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (SEN) or equivalent.

  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and a commitment to championing the rights and well-being of children with special educational needs.
