Senior Professional Development Manager

Leading US law firm is hiring a new Senior Professional Development Manager to lead on legal skills programmes for Associates and Senior Associates in the London office. This role will have two line reports and you will be working closely with the Director in the team.

  • Salary of up to £95,000

Senior Professional Development Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director in designing and developing all legal skills programmes (Associate, Senior Associate, Counsel and Partner Development Group). Lead on the Associate and Senior Associate programmes. Liaising with key stakeholders, brainstorming and designing programme outlines with external facilitators, obtaining feedback from Partners, Counsel and Associates.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the administration PD Manager and the PD Coordinator.
  • Review external facilitators, make recommendations to the Director of PD.
  • Maintain regular contact with external facilitators with regard to design, development and delivery of programmes and sessions plus market updates and innovation.
  • Responsible for the overall structure, development, publicity and timetable for the Associate and Senior Associate development programmes.
  • Attend and co-host all sessions with external facilitators. Observe, share insight and use knowledge to evolve programmes and coaching.
  • Responsible for all PD documentation and copy, including the portal.
  • Assist with events and arrangements relating to the mentoring and coaching programmes.
  • Assist the Director of PD with the planning and organisation of the Partner Development Programme – to include group discussion groups, coaching and dinners.

Senior Professional Development Manager Key Skills & Requirements:

  • Previous management experience within a L&D or Professional Development Team within a professional services organisation, preferably within a law firm
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Strong technical and communication skills
