We are currently recruiting for an IT Systems Team Leader on behalf of our public sector client based in East London.
This is a permanent role, and the salary range is £54,129 - £58,248. The client offers remote working, however the successful applicant will be required to attend the office for initial training and meetings as and when required.
The Team Leader role will require both team management duties and technical hands-on work, complex technical expertise of Operating systems, Microsoft 365 and Azure, Cloud Infrastructure principles, virtualisation and cyber security and their frameworks are essential.
- Lead a team of 5 team members creating vision, setting and communicating direction, develop, build and maintain a high performing team
- Provide the IT systems escalation point for incidents, requests, changes and projects
- The ability to translate the impact of a technical issue onto a business service will be key to assessing the priority and focus for resolution. Understanding and addressing the root causes of problems is a key part of the role
- Working in the IT Operations department of the IT Services department and reporting into the Network Services Manager, the IT Systems Team Leader will be responsible for support and development of critical IT infrastructure services which are used to deliver assess to applications in a secure and optimised manner to end users
- The role entails delivery of a BAU service through the management of incidents and service requests in line with the organisations SLA providing a positive IT experience. The core BAU supports elements of the role are to provide 2nd and 3rd line support to customers
- IT scoping and implementation of new IT projects and technologies principles
- Advise on IT performance issues and any security and compliance risks
- Developing and managing the teams Performance Development and training plans towards delivering on IT Strategy
- Advise on the development, integration and implementation of new and existing infrastructure and IT systems
- Contribution to the planning and delivery for the successful implementation of IT infrastructure projects
- Monitor lifecycle of IT systems towards managing the legacy impact of systems
- Play a pivotal role in positively impacting the IT systems experience across the organisation
- Ability to convey complex technical issues to non-technical staff
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
- Excellent technical knowledge of Microsoft products including Azure Public Cloud architectures, Windows and Linux Operating systems, Microsoft 365, Virtualisation
Experience as a technical team lead/manager in a similar role
- Experience of managing and leading a technical team
- Experience of IT Service management tools, developing and deploying the tools to best suit the needs of the team
- Public sector/local government experience highly desirable
