Job Title: Planning Lawyer (Temporary Assignment)
Location: Time Square, Warrington
Pay Rate: £22.73 per hour (PAYE)
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Contract Length: 4 to 6 months (initially)
Working Model: Hybrid working with flexible working policy
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Planning Lawyer to join our client's high-performing Legal Services department. This is a temporary full-time position to cover a vacancy pending permanent recruitment. The department is Lexcel accredited and offers a supportive, friendly, and progressive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on Town & Country Planning matters.
- Draft and advise on Section 106 agreements, including biodiversity net gain and bi-lateral/unilateral agreements.
- Prepare certificates of lawful use.
- Attend and advise at local authority planning committees.
- Deliver legal advice across council departments on planning matters as directed.
- Represent the council in meetings with client departments, agencies, and legal representatives.
About You
- Qualified and experienced Planning Lawyer.
- Proven experience in Local Government or Public Sector legal work.
- Ability to attend planning committees as required is desirable.
- Strong communication and drafting skills.
- Collaborative and proactive approach to legal problem-solving.
