Site Buyer
Jonathan Lee Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join a team in Stafford. This initial 6 month contract role comes with an umbrella rate of £32/hr (inside IR35).
Within this dynamic role, you will provide purchasing solutions and deliver a lean, responsive, and resilient material and services flow for the facility from source to dock. You would gain understanding of new designs, whilst managing prototype suppliers, parts and working on the end-to-end process.
In your first few weeks in this Buyer role, you can expect to:
- Be responsible and accountable for the implementation of a local sourcing strategy
- Manage policies, agreements, special purchasing programmes, and support specific product line NPI programs
- Manage several prototype and existing suppliers and components to successfully achieve a project currently under development
- Provide leadership for cost reduction, sourcing, logistics and resource management
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and new product introduction activities within Purchasing
- Liaise with corresponding Category Buyers and Buyers in our global manufacturing facilities
To apply for this Buyer role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:
- Purchasing / procurement background
- Experience in managing a supplier base, including prototype solutions
- Previous experience of managing global suppliers
- Professional certification in Purchasing or Supply Chain
- Analytical, problem solving, and project leadership skills
- Ability to lead teams, suppliers, and customers to effective solutions
- Good communication & interpersonal skills, including strong negotiation skills
- MFG Pro experience (desirable)
