IT Apprentice

Managing Director, Neil Smith started working out of a bedroom on his own in 1998. Back then looking after primarily domestic clients is where it all started. Fast forward 24 years and we are a growing team of more than 20 staff with a huge amount of skill and more than 250 years experience between us.

Overview:

ReformIT's Apprentice forms part of the company's workshop support team, reporting to the Service Delivery Manager the Apprentice will ensure that a high level of service is provided managing the day-to-day workshop requirements of the business.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities: [will include but not be limited to:]

  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on IT equipment.
  • Manage inventory of workshop tools and spare parts, ensuring all necessary supplies are on hand.
  • Collaborate with the IT support team to resolve escalated issues efficiently.
  • Assist in the setup and configuration of new hardware and software for end-users.
  • Document all repairs and maintenance activities accurately in the ticketing system.
  • Stay updated on the latest technology trends and best practices in IT support and maintenance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the workshop environment.

What we are looking for:

  • Knowledge of using Windows devices (Additional use of iOS and MacOS is desirable)
  • Understanding of basic IT equipment such as external hard drives, laptop chargers, peripherals etc.
  • Knowledge of the major hardware components inside Desktop PC's and Laptops
  • Good customer communication skills
  • Ability to drive is desirable

Entry Requirements:

  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject.

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

  • Salary: £21,000 per annum
  • Working week: The role will be office-based at our Cheltenham, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5:30pm.
