Salary: £18.87 UMB Per hour

Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting for an experienced HR Adviser to join our client based in Gloucestershire. The role is on a 12-week contract with potential extension for the right candidate.

The HR Advisor will provide expert human resources and organisation development support, advice and guidance to managers and employee of the organisation.

The duties of the HR Adviser include:

  • Providing HR advice and guidance to employees and managers, acting as the first line of contact for generalist HR support
  • Providing first line support for managers undertaking disciplinary investigations and hearings, sickness meetings, supporting performance meetings and other procedures of the organisation
  • Contributing significantly to HR and OD policy development or review, and maintenance of the staff handbook and associated documents
  • Assisting with the development of HR / OD and learning and development programmes undertaking staff training in areas relevant to the role, and maintaining the relevant training budget
  • Assisting with consultation and negotiation with trade unions about HR matters such as service reviews including TUPE transfers and restructures
  • Preparing and/or checking for issue with contracts of employment, statements of particulars, variation letters and other correspondence related to HR policies and procedures
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of HR information and management systems
  • Supporting the control of the staff establishment and produce comprehensive management information
  • Supporting the recruitment onboarding process by advising managers on contract types, job descriptions and person specifications, advertising, selection tools and processes, participating in selection panels when necessary and developing and improving systems and processes
  • Assisting with the implementation of annual pay awards and other changes to national (or local) terms and conditions such as allowances, holiday entitlements etc
  • Coordinating and undertaking job evaluation and attend JE Panel meetings as required
  • Supporting Organisational development activity and new ways of working to achieve both service improvement and efficiency
  • Providing guidance and support to the assistant HR & OD advisor

The HR Advisor will ideally have:

  • Experience within a public sector organisation (Essential)
  • Experience in a similar role (Essential)
  • Level 5 CIPD Qualification or equivalent
  • HR Generalist experience (Essential)

The HR Advisor will need to have excellent communication skills and effectively be able to communicate to stakeholders of all levels. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have an impeccable eye for detail and accuracy to ensure all workload is carried out effectively and efficiently. They will also need to able to prioritise their workload and be efficient and effective to meet unpredictable deadlines and deal with conflicting demands, whilst working in a high-pressured environment.
