Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage and oversee our client's financial activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Conduct financial analysis and forecasting
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning activities
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheets and general ledger accounts
- Prepare tax returns and ensure timely submission
Skills and Qualifications:
- ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero)
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
