Role Overview
As a PLC Engineer, you will lead the software development lifecycle, including requirements definition, coding, design review, and testing. You will also provide mentorship and technical guidance, helping to identify and implement technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software for machines controlling hydraulic and electrical systems with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Lead the software development lifecycle: defining requirements, coding, reviewing designs, and testing at every level, including hardware operation and testing.
  • Design electrical schematics.
  • Create drawings with accurate BOM for electrical components.
  • Develop technical documentation, including work instructions, parts lists, and maintenance components.
  • Provide customer support and troubleshooting.
  • Engage in R&D projects to expand and innovate the product range.
  • Ensure product quality through the design of electrical testing methods and testing of finished products.
  • Respond to engineering information requests and questions.
  • Maintain compliance with regulations to uphold product and company reputation.
  • Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the Line Manager.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality Management System and company health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • HND or equivalent in electronic/electrical engineering or relevant working experience.
  • At least 5 years of postgraduate experience in a similar design software role.
  • Proficiency in schematics and software programming design using AutoCad, SolidWorks, and EPLAN.
  • Ability to read and create detailed electrical drawings.
  • In-depth knowledge of current regulations and electrical design standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in technical drawing.
  • Experience drafting to electrical standards.
