Behaviour Mentor - School in Aylesbury, Chesham and High Wycombe
I am currently working with a lovely school in Aylesbury, Chesham and High Wycombe who are urgently seeking a behavioural specialist to support their secondary-age pupils to start immediately.
Our school have a high number of SEND pupils with complex needs and behaviours that challenge them.
About the role:
Working to support students in a class either on a 121 basis or with small groups, offering educational, holistic and intervention support.
The needs of the pupils they cater for range from:
- ASC (verbal and non-verbal)
- Learning difficulties
- Complex needs
- Challenging behaviours
Ideal applicants:
- If you have previous SEND experience (either professionally or personally)
- If you are a Psychology, Mental Health, Education and Actor/Arts Graduate/undergrad
- If you have previous Youth Work or Support Work experience
- SEND: SEMH, Autism, Complex Needs, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Physical Disabilities and mobility difficulties
We welcome applicants with a good understanding of working with students with severe ASC and profound, multiple learning difficulties and are enthusiastic about raising the attainment of their pupils.
You will ideally have experience in supporting children with special educational needs or will have a passion for working with students with special educational needs. Working with Theatre in Education (TIE) or workshops with children are beneficial. By being proactive and taking initiative, you are going to be able to build relationships with students and gain knowledge of a wide variety of needs.
