Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for a specialist primary school in Sutton Coldfield, we are looking for an experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant. The students at this school have diverse and unique challenges, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), visual and hearing impairments, and behavioural difficulties.

The Role: We are seeking a reliable and resilient Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join this innovative school. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of pupils, ensuring an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each pupil's specific needs.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with SLD, PMLD, ASD, and other complex needs.
  • Assist in the management of challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Help prepare and maintain classroom materials and resources.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all pupils.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with SLD, PMLD, ASD, and sensory impairments.
  • Understanding of positive behaviour management techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs.
