Your new role
For this newly created role, we are seeking an experienced and innovative Marketing Manager to oversee the marketing and communications operations and deliver our marketing and brand strategy. This is a unique opportunity to drive the growth and visibility of our union, engage with the community, and enhance our commercial activities.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the union's strategic goals, focusing on increasing engagement, membership, and commercial revenue.
  • Support the growth of the Union's commercial services, including retail, food & beverage, events, and other revenue-generating activities, using innovative marketing techniques and data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead the development of digital marketing initiatives, including social media, content marketing, email campaigns, SEO, and marketing automation to enhance engagement and reach.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the Union's brand, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all communication channels.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring the Union's activities are well communicated and supported.
  • Utilise market research, data analysis, and insights to monitor performance, inform strategy, and make evidence-based decisions.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven track record in senior marketing roles, ideally within a commercial environment such as retail, hospitality, or FMCG.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate a diverse team, with strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing strategies, tools, and platforms, including social media, content marketing, email marketing, SEO, and marketing automation. For example, marketing automation tools (like HubSpot or Marketo), or analytics tools (like Google Analytics).
  • Proficient in using data and analytics to inform marketing strategies and measure success.
