Finance Manager / Senior Bookkeeper

Based in Slough, Berkshire our client is looking for a Finance Manager/ Senior Bookkeeper to join their growing team on a permanent basis, with the flexibility to work 1-2 days at home to a local candidate.

This role would suit someone with previous experience within an accounting role to oversee, manage and co-ordinate the finance function of the business.

This company is a leading name within their industry with a turnover of £5 mill, providing specialist products to businesses across the UK and Europe.

The successful individual will have excellent communication skills to be able to liaise effectively across the business. They must be highly organised and detail oriented. Good IT skills, especially Excel, is essential.

Job responsibilities:

  • Oversight of the purchase ledger function, including goods order management (e.g. purchase invoice vs delivery note)
  • Processing of supplier payment run
  • Bank reconciliation (GBP and Euro)
  • Processing of staff expenses and director credit card transactions
  • Management of overheard spend
  • Cash management on a daily basis
  • Management of company budgets and the performance against these
  • Escalation of debt collection where necessary
  • Credit checks for new customers
  • Regular credit checks for suppliers
  • Management of the details for the Irish VAT return (prepared by a local accountant)
  • Accuracy of VAT coding within the relevant accounting systems
  • Analytical review of client accounts profitability

This will be an interesting role providing significant opportunity for the candidate to gain exposure.
