We have a fantastic opportunity for a Neighbourhood Care Operative at Bolton Council, this is a full-time temporary role for the next 2 - 3 months, with the possibility of extension.
What is the role?
Bolton Council are looking for a Neighbourhood Care Operatives to work within Bolton Council cemeteries throughout the borough assisting with all aspect's grounds maintenance.
What are your responsibilities?
- Strimming & mowing cemeteries and open spaces is the main purpose of the role on a daily basis.
- Additional works may include removal of litter, empty litter bins, undertake grounds maintenance duties including, maintenance of shrub and flower beds and pedestrian grass cutting when required.
- To manually sweep and collect litter and detritus from the highway and open spaces shrub areas.
- Remove fly tipping and sharps.
- Empty and clean dog and litter bins.
- To undertake Grounds Maintenance duties including shrub and flower bed maintenance, shrub bed pruning, hedge cutting and pedestrian and ride on grass cutting and edging off of associated grassed areas.
- Undertake pedestrian sweeping, and to manually remove graffiti.
- To undertake leaf clearance by manually sweeping.
- Provide such assistance as may be required to all customers to enable the smooth operation of the service and show a professional approach and image to minimise complaints.
- Completion of worksheet.
- Winter gritting of footpath areas.
What skills do you Need?
- You must have previous experience as a Neighbourhood Care Operative / Street Cleaner
- Must be physically fit and healthy, as you will be required to work outside and lift heavy items
- Full UK Driving licence, however a pre-1997 or LGV Licence would be advantageous
- Excellent people skills, as you will be speaking to the public, other members of staff and managers.
- Working Hours are Monday to Thursday 7.30am – 15.30pm, and Friday 7.30am – 15.00pm
