Subjects include:

Primary: Numeracy and Literacy

Secondary: Maths, English and Science (You don't necessarily have to teach all)

Key responsibilities:

  • Creating lesson plans tailored to the student's learning style
  • Assessing student progress, identifying areas for improvement and recording attainment levels using our internal reporting system
  • Deliver engaging sessions to support a range of learning styles
  • Drive measurable outcomes from each session to measure impact
  • Work collaboratively with educational/care stakeholders ensuring student support.
  • Working in accordance with the KCSIE and safeguarding guidelines.

Desired experience:

  • Experienced in tutoring one to one or small groups of pupils who require additional educational or pastoral support
  • Experience in taking supervision and correction constructively
  • Experience working in inclusion units, special settings or alternative provisions
  • Experience in working with students with SEN, children with undiagnosed SEN, disengaged young people or looked after children

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate academic competence in the subject area(s) and build a curriculum, creating lesson plans individual to the student's learning style
  • Assessing student progress, identifying areas for improvement and recording attainment levels using our internal reporting system
  • Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic tasks
  • Assisting students in understanding key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom
  • Contribute to students' learning, growth and advancement
  • Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice
  • Work collaboratively with schools, foster carers and social workers in order to ensure the student receives tailored support
  • Working in accordance with the KCSIE and safeguarding guidelines

Essential qualities:

  • Inspirational, effective & flexible communications skills
  • Competent IT skills, access to laptop/computer, audio and visual
  • Stable broadband & internet connection
  • Ability to develop meaningful relationships, encourage and motivate students.
