Construction Manager Heritage

Your new company is a project management organisation and has been awarded a contract to deliver a unique restoration project to a large 18th century Palladian mansion near Guildford, Surrey.
Your new role is to be based on site five days per week in the role of a construction manager as the number two to the client's project manager whilst working closely with a large multidisciplinary team. Duties would be to programme and manage information on Aconex, take specialist conservation trade contractors' progress meetings and monitor them, perform site inspections, control safety, temporary works, identify risks and ensure the project milestones are delivered on time and under budget. This is a large conservation project, focusing on the reconstruction of a Grade 1 Listed National Trust building. The project work will be executed to the highest standard using traditional specialist skills and craft skills.
What you'll need to succeed You will be computer-literate and be fluent with spreadsheets and MS Office, circa 8-12 years of experience with a main contractor background, ideally with high-end residential work and heritage work in conjunction with Listed Buildings. You will need to be capable of working independently but in close conjunction with the Professional Team. An understanding of the Construction Management process and the JCT CMA & TC would be an advantage. Whilst the client will be leading the procurement, this will be a joint process with the PQS, the Design Team and the Project Manager. You will be able to programme and manage information on Aconex, take trade contractor progress meetings and minute them. Preferably relevant degree qualified, with SMSTS & 1st Aid. Whilst the project manager will be leading the procurement, this will be a joint process with the PQS, the Design Team and the Construction Manager. Previous experience of heritage or conservation jobs would be advantageous.
What you'll get in return is a freelance contract which may go permanent on this three-year project paying a day rate of £268.97 PAYE including holiday pay or £315.50 Umbrella Ltd method, working five days per week.
