Are you a proactive and analytical professional passionate about driver resource management? Our client, a well-established train services organisation, is seeking a Driver Resource Strategy Manager to join their team.

In this role, you will take ownership of creating and delivering the organisation's Driver Resource Management Strategy, ensuring the smooth running of on-the-day traincrew availability and forecasting. By utilising data-driven insights and effective stakeholder collaboration, you will play a pivotal role in minimising train cancellations and their impact on both our client and their valued customers.

Location: London

Contract Type: 6 month FTC - potential to go permanent!

Working Pattern: Full Time

Salary: £55,000 - £80,000 (per annum, depending on experience)

?? Purpose of role:

  • Develop and own the Resource Management Strategy for our client
  • Collaborate with the Head of Driver Operations to support and deliver relevant activities
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date view of driver coverage, utilising forecasting models, and implementing improvements where necessary
  • Investigate and recommend solutions to root causes of traincrew cancellations, ensuring accountable managers receive pertinent information
  • Effectively communicate complex resource information to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
  • Proactively manage the interface between the Driver Operations team and Train Planning, Rosters & Control
  • Support the Head of Driver Operations in discussions with trade union representatives regarding Driver Resourcing
  • Be accountable for the performance of Resource Management KPIs

?? Skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • You must have experience with analysis and strategy of Resource Management in an operational environment

Desirable knowledge:

  • Educated to degree level, recognised management qualifications or equivalent
  • Good negotiation skills and exceptional data and numerical acumen
  • Ability to interpret reports and identify areas for improvement
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience in creating and delivering strategic plans
  • Experience fostering positive working relationships with trade unions and stakeholders
  • Proven record in achieving service performance
  • Work closely with key interfaces to the Driver Resource Management team to maximise driver availability and minimise cancellations
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships with drivers and Trade Unions, promoting a 'one team' approach
