Project Assistant

To cover a full time role 37.5 hours a week. Shift pattern is a 4 week rolling rota including alternate weekends.

Early shifts are - 07:30am - 15:30

Late shifts are - 14:30 - 22:30

The project is a complex needs service providing short-term temporary accommodation to 48 single people, aged 16+ who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Many of our customers lead chaotic lifestyles, often they have a background of offending, addiction and/or mental health. Our customers can quite often be dis-engaged in accepting support and you will need to think outside the box, adapt and work flexibly to help them succeed.

You will heavily contribute to the day-to-day running of the scheme undertaking a range of administrative tasks and customer service responsibilities. Including:

  • Reception duties and being first first point of contact for customers and visitors.
  • Cleaning & preparing any vacant flats ready for re-let.
  • Ensuring Health & Safety checks are completed in flats and communal areas of the scheme.
  • Completing housing assessments with prospective customers.
  • New customer sign ups.
  • Reporting repairs.
  • Ordering furniture stock for flats and general office supplies.
  • Managing crisis situations.

Main skills required are strong work ethic, pro-active, problem solving, using own initiative, an ability to remain calm and patient under pressure, self confidence in responding to incidents and building a rapport with people from different backgrounds to try and best manage challenging and confrontational behaviour at times. Some basic computer-based skills are also beneficial to be able to quickly learn and carry out admin tasks on various systems.

- Experience of working with vulnerable client groups.
- Experience of housing management and/or social care environment.
