Departmental Business Manager

About the role

Based within the largest directorate in the Society, Dementia Support and Partnerships, the role will form part of a small team of business managers ensuring effective, efficient and compliant delivery of all our activities across all departments and functions of the Directorate.

Alzheimer's Society's Hope and Help Strategy focuses our efforts on growing our reach, increasing our impact and ensuring timely, accurate diagnosis. The role of business managers will be to support the success of the strategy through the design, implementation and monitoring of our planning, performance, compliance, risk and budget management on a departmental level. To achieve this, the expectation of the role is to support associate directors heading the department and their teams in embedding business management principles in their day-to-day work.

The role is pivotal in supporting the application of the Society's values and culture changes needed to be the best we can be.

The role will report to the Dementia Support and Partnerships' Business Manager and contribute to the overall achievement of the strategic objectives of the Directorate.

About you

  • You will be skilled in translating strategic priorities into departmental plans and objectives, bringing your experience of measuring success of business and people plans through performance metrics and dashboards.
  • You will have experience of successfully developing and delivering strategic analysis, providing recommendations for improvements and business intelligence that supports evidence-based decision making.
  • You will have developed frameworks for measuring outcomes and impact, and systems for driving up the improvements in relation to those.
  • You are a first-class communicator and negotiator, influencing positive change through evidence-led solutions informed by the people with direct experience of dementia.
  • You will be highly organised and systematic and able to prioritise and co-ordinate multiple tasks and activities.
