Electrical Technician

Salary - £37,300

Working Hours - 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday

Call Out Responsibility - £150 retainer - minimum 4 hours at either time and a half or double time Sunday

Join our client's dynamic Engineering Team in Sandwich as an Electrical Technician!

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated professional to support the Electrical Technical Lead and the team in providing top electrical maintenance services. In this role, you'll be responsible for conducting planned preventative maintenance and handling reactive repairs, ensuring all electrical systems meet industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Performing inspections, testing, planned maintenance, and system modifications, as well as repairing equipment and buildings where necessary.
  • Conducting detailed investigations, diagnosing, and rectifying faults in electrical distribution, including three-phase systems.
  • Managing start-ups, monitoring operations, and safely shutting down service plants, equipment, and systems when authorised.
  • Testing, adjusting, and completing fixed wire remedial works on electrical installations and systems.
  • Carrying out new electrical installations and lighting upgrades as required.
  • Performing emergency light testing, fixed wire testing, PAT testing, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensuring the safe isolation of equipment to create safe working environments when required.
  • Completing job tickets and preparing small quotations for tenant services and site delivery.
  • Taking personal responsibility for ensuring all work is done safely and with environmental responsibility.
  • Reporting all accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions immediately.
  • Providing technical support for projects and assisting with the commissioning and handover of plant and user equipment.
  • Offering specialized technical support and maintaining strong communication with customers, management, and the engineering team to ensure high levels of customer service.

Personal Specification

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an electrical maintenance role.
  • 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification.
  • Solid understanding of building services maintenance and operations.
  • Technically proficient.
  • Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact and build relationships at all levels, including with tenants.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
