What you'll get to do as a Test Architect:
To ensure the success of the project, it is essential to define and implement a comprehensive test strategy. This includes establishing the project BIT architecture, which encompasses coverage requirements, timings, and system-level routines. Additionally, specifying missile factory pass-out testing is crucial to ensure the correct build and to support the manufacturing team with optimal test stages during production.
In-service test routines on missiles must also be specified to maintain operational integrity. It is important to generate and manage compliance with lower-level test requirements for design teams, including test access needs, BIT coverage/timings, and factory test functionality. Analyzing and modeling systems to understand test coverage and generate diagnostic instructions is another key aspect of the strategy.
Furthermore, proposing and recommending cost versus test coverage trade-offs with the Chief Design Engineer will help in making informed decisions. Finally, producing and maintaining plans for activities within the sphere of responsibility will ensure that all tasks are aligned with the project's objectives and timelines.
