Complex Needs Support Worker
• Location: Great Yarmouth
• Salary: £12.82 - £14.50
• Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday 0830 - 1530)
We are seeking an experienced Support Worker with a passion for working with children who have complex needs. Join our outstanding team at Complex Needs School, where you will support children aged 4 to 11 with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, and sensory impairments. You will play a key role in providing a personalised and engaging curriculum and supporting the children's physical, emotional, and social development.
Day to day of the role:
- Work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
- Provide tailored one-to-one or small group support to children with complex needs.
- Utilize specialist equipment and resources to enhance learning and communication.
- Assist with personal care, feeding, and medical needs as required.
- Monitor and document the children's progress and milestones.
- Communicate with parents, carers, and other professionals involved in the children's care.
- Participate in relevant training and professional development meetings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in supporting children with SEN, or willingness to undertake training.
- Experience with children with complex needs, or a strong desire to work in this area.
- A positive, adaptable approach to meeting the needs of children.
- A commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children.
- A DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
