Job title: Service Engineer - Mechanically Biased

Salary Range: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

Hours: Day Shifts Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Location: Dudley, West Midlands

Permanent role working for a leading manufacturing business in Dudley, West Midlands.

Due to expansion, we are seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join a leading manufacturing business in Dudley, West Midlands.

Due to the nature of the business, we are looking for someone who has experience with servicing, commissioning and installing Roll Formers, Steel Slitting Machines and/or Coil Processing Equipment.

This is an office-based role and you would be representing the company from the UK facility in Dudley, you may be required to travel to customer and supplier sites, both domestically and internationally, as well as spend time working at other companies within the group.

This role requires international travel and includes visits to other companies within the group for training on projects and then carry-out the installation/start-up at our customer sites; either individually or managing a team of personnel.

You will be responsible for providing on-site corrective/preventative maintenance and offer after-sales technical and commercial support, develop technical knowledge of highly engineered and automated coil processing and roll forming equipment.

When not at customer sites, your role would be to assist the UK division in generating revenue by promoting service visits and spare parts sales, this would also include installation and start-up of equipment globally.

This client based in Dudley, requires an experienced Service Engineer on a permanent basis**.**

As a Service Engineer, you will be required to:

  • Provide on-site corrective/preventative maintenance and offer after-sales technical and commercial support
  • Develop technical knowledge of highly engineered and automated coil processing and roll forming equipment.
  • Assist the UK division in generating revenue by promoting service visits and spare parts sales, this would also include installation and start-up of equipment globally.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers
  • Liaise with engineering, sales and other group companies as required on both new and existing projects and potential leads.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of equipment and technology by training online, in customers facilities and occasionally at factories within the group.

The Service Engineer should have the following skills, experience, and qualifications:

Essential:

  • Previous experience within a Service based role
  • Previous experience with Roll Formers, Steel Slitting Machines and/or Coil Processing Equipment
  • Experience or aptitude to develop knowledge in both mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Competent with Microsoft Office 365 packages
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Passport holder

Advantageous:

  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, roll tool and tool/die design would be beneficial.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and knowledge of PLC Systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc) would be preferable.
