Reed are delighted to working with a Construction focused business seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to oversee and maintain our Integrated Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO45001, ISO14001, and ISO9001 standards. The successful candidate will provide essential support to the Managing Director and Project Teams, managing the HSEQ department including 3 direct reports, and setting policies to maintain the highest level of standards in health, safety, environmental, and quality aspects.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Ensure the Company Management Systems comply with ISO45001, ISO14001, and ISO9001.
  • Provide health, safety, environmental, and quality support to both management and site teams.
  • Update and maintain Registers of Legal Compliance for health and safety and environmental legislation across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, and England.
  • Review and update Company Policies and Procedures, ensuring their implementation throughout the company.
  • Develop HSEQ associated documentation, including Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans and Construction Environmental Management Plans.
  • Conduct site inspections and internal audits, facilitating external audits during the Annual External Audit.
  • Approve subcontractor PQQs and monitor performance on site.
  • Manage incident/accident investigations and reporting, liaising with the insurance company as required.
  • Report RIDDOR accidents/incidents and maintain systems to monitor HSE data, analysing trends to reduce accidents and incidents.
  • Promote good HSEQ practices within the workplace and manage the HSE team and external resources.
  • Communicate with Regulatory Bodies for health, safety, and environmental issues.
  • Develop company and personnel development plans, including identifying training requirements and maintaining records.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing HSEQ within a relevant sector.
  • Familiarity with ISO45001, ISO14001, and ISO9001 standards.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, and England.
  • Ability to develop and implement HSEQ policies and procedures.
  • Experience in conducting site inspections, internal audits, and facilitating external audits.
  • Competent in incident/accident investigation and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a team.
  • A proactive approach to promoting workplace safety and environmental responsibility.
