Role: Management Accountant
Location: Leeds (minimum 3 days a week in the office)
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Type: Contract
Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working exclusively with a market leading business based in Leeds, who're looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join their team.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will oversee a small team, produce monthly management accounts, prepare budgets, and deliver key financial insights.
Key Responsibilities of a Management Accountant:
- Produce and analyse monthly management accounts and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Investigate and communicate financial variances to stakeholders across the business
- Identify and assess financial trends to guide investment and operational decisions.
- Lead commercial reporting efforts and hold departmental heads accountable for financial performance.
- Prepare annual budgets and regular forecasts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and KPI benchmarking.
- Generate open book accounting reports for external governing bodies.
- Support year-end processes and statutory audits.
- Ensure adherence to internal financial controls, processes, and policies.
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified accountant, ideally CIMA
- Experience in a group environment, preferably with multi-site operations
- Strong organisational and management skills with a focus on continuous improvement
- Detail-oriented and inquisitive
- Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Excel and familiar with Sage
- People management experience to reach deadlines and improve efficiencies across the team
