Financial Controller

Location: Wetherby

Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 + Bonus & Benefits – Flexible Working

Elevation Senior Finance is currently looking to recruit a Financial Controller in Wetherby on behalf of a fast-growing business that is set for continual growth over the next few years.

Reporting to the Managing Director this will be a commercial focused role that will form a crucial link between finance and the wider business. Producing the month-end results, whilst ensuring the board receives value adding management reports which drive decision-making.

This is also a number one in finance position with a pathway of progression to Finance Director.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Accountable for effective financial management, financial reporting and Budget management across the business
  • Take a lead role in the identification and management of business risk
  • To lead the development and continual improvement of business support processes and financial controls, identifying cost efficiencies throughout the company
  • Preparation and coordination of the annual Budgets and mid-year forecasts
  • Preparation of monthly and annual financial reports in line with accounting standards
  • Analysis of month end financial performance against Budget and P&L account lines
  • Day-to-day cash management and management of financial needs of the business including management of the invoice factoring facility during peak periods
  • Ensuring strong financial controls are in place and are effective
  • Preparation, analysis and reporting of annual financial performance
  • Preparation of reports, coordination and liaison with external auditors
  • Develop, implement and review financial administration procedures
  • Ensure regular review of the contracts and supplier register
  • Ensure that the revenues and assets of the company are protected through the establishment of effective financial controls

The successful Financial Controller will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

  • Qualified ACA /CIMA/ACCA
  • Experience in leading, mentoring and developing a finance team
  • Team player, leading by example, with the ability to bring out the best in others
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Significant experience in management reporting and business planning
  • Detail-oriented as well as seeing the bigger picture
  • Track record of managing and improving effective and controlled processes
  • High energy levels, resilient, self-motivated, proactive
