Financial Controller Role Overview

NC Associates have partnered with a fast growing business who due to continued success and performance require the addition of a skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join and help lead their Finance team. This position will play a pivotal role in supporting the businesses with its current and future growth plans.

This is an ideal opportunity for a forward thinking and results driven, Qualified FC who is looking for an opportunity to add value through process improvements and team development.

Financial Controller Responsibilities:

  • Provide supportive and encouraging management to the wider finance team. Ensuring that the team are on track with agreed development plans.
  • Oversee all transactional accounting teams and processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure the smooth running of all accounting operations.
  • Lead and oversee system and process implementation projects', rolling out best practice methods to the wider team accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, tax laws and accounting principles.
  • Complete and deliver monthly and quarterly board reports.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy across multiple platforms.
  • Provide insight to support strategic planning and decision making.
  • Manage the audit process through liaising with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure that cash flow is effectively managed to meet financial obligations.
  • Coordinate annual budgeting and forecasting to enable accurate business planning.

Financial Controller Required Experience:

  • Previous experience in a Financial Control capacity with proven track record of managing financial controls in a fast paced and evolving finance function.
  • Proven experience of overseeing and leading systems and process improvement projects.
  • Team management skills with the ability to motivate and drive a team to reach personal and team goals and targets.
  • CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Advanced Excel and accounting software skills.
  • Proven experience of enforcing efficient controls to maintain a robust accounting process.
  • The desire to add value and insight to further grow and develop financial processes and business performance.
  • Previous experience of working in a stock focussed business is highly advantageous.
  • The ability to make and implement business critical decisions.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and reevaluate as required inline with business demands.
