We are working with fantastic SEN schools across Luton that provide for children between that have been diagnosed with wide ranging educational and social needs. The schools are looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant who endeavour to ensure children reach their full potential, through high standards of teaching and learning.

This is a SEMH Teaching Assistant role that will put you into challenging, sometimes Anti-Social contexts that will build your foundations of experience. With this LSA role starting after, de-escalation and the language around it is incredibly important!

  • September start date
  • Education and Training provided
  • Pay: £460 -£500 per week
  • Full time 8:30am to 3:45pm.
  • Graduate role aimed at aspiring Clinical Psychologist to aspiring Youth/Criminal justice officers

SEMH Teaching Asssitant Requirements:

  • Personal/Professional experience with children and/or young people is desirable but not essential
  • A caring individual with energy, drive and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work as part of team, alongside teaching and support staff within the Luton Schools
  • Willing to support a pupil with personal care where necessary.
  • Able to use their initiative to support learning.
  • Passion to support children and young people with special educational needs

What you'll need as a SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to get one.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification, at level 2 or above.
  • Live locally to Luton
