Interim Closedown Accountant | 6 months + | Remote | Local Government
Castlefield Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority to recruit an Interim Closedown / Financial Accountant on an initial 6 month interim basis (strong possibility of extension). This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation going through a period of exciting change.
Duties;
- Leading the year end closedown and statutory returns for multiple years.
- Lead a team with preparation of the statement of accounts
- Co-ordination of the external audit process for the council
- Liaising with the S151 and Head of Transformation
- Managing and actioning audit queries
- Providing financial support across to senior stakeholders across the organisation
- Ensuring robust financial controls are in place and financial risk is understood
The person;
- CCAB/CIMA qualified, or equivalent with a strong technical skillset
- Experience within Local Government Finance
- Experience in working in a District Council is beneficial
- Strong MS Excel skills
