Assistant Financial Controller

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £55,000 + benefits

This is a fantastic opportunity for a first time practice mover who has recently qualified to take their first step into industry, in a market leading, supportive company. They are a dynamic business who are dedicated to delivering exceptional services to their customers.

As the Assistant Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial operations and growth organisation. You will work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective budget management, and compliance with regulatory standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional looking to advance their career in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Support the Financial Controller in managing the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Conduct variance analysis and financial performance reviews
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
  • Assist with year-end audits and liaise with external auditors
  • Participate in the development and implementation of financial systems and processes
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as required
  • Supervise and mentor junior finance staff

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA fully qualified
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
