This is a part-time role, working 20 hours per week, spread over 3-5 days (to be agreed upon with the successful candidate).

Job Purpose

In this Development Assistant role, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day tasks of the development team as directed by the Development Manager.

Your role will be to ensure the continuity of regular communication with stakeholders, members, and prospective partners to advocate Royal & Derngate's charitable status. You will assist, where necessary, in cultivating partnerships and promoting fundraising campaigns to raise the organisation's profile.

Key Duties

  • Coordinate all partner ticket enquiries and be the main booking contact for Business Club and selected Director's Circle members.
  • To support all Business Club and Director Circle communication in accordance with an agreed delivery schedule.
  • Assist the Development Manager at VIP evenings and launch events, including press evenings.
  • Be responsible for managing and encouraging Business Club members complimentary ticket allowances via engagement across our channels.
  • To ensure development webpages and business listings are up to date and relevant for development purposes.
  • To support membership growth and engagement alongside the Development Manager.
  • To assist with a schedule of fundraising campaigns.
  • Help to establish a newly formed 21-35 membership community.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to effectively communicate member offers & newsletters.

Experience

  • Experience working in theatre or arts environment
  • Knowledge of local area businesses, entrepreneurial, and philanthropic communities
  • Experience of (Capital) fundraising
  • Experience in cultivating and nurturing relationships and the ability to adapt communication style accordingly

Knowledge

  • GDPR
  • Working knowledge of CRM and systems, with an understanding of TESSITURA

Skills/Abilities

  • Able to drive with access to own vehicle
  • A flexible approach to working patterns, with a willingness to work occasional unsociable hours
