We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to enhance our client's procurement team. This role is pivotal in sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services essential for our manufacturing operations, requiring strong negotiation skills and a keen eye for detail.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible deals
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely procurement of materials to avoid production delays
- Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to understand material requirements and specifications
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and pricing fluctuations
- Resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing with suppliers
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Buyer, preferably in the aviation or manufacturing industry
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred
