About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE Advisor to join our team at Hinkley Point C, the UK's first new build nuclear power station in a generation, critical to the UK's NetZero targets. This role is integral to ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality on this prestigious project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive Safety and Health advisory services to Project Managers and their teams.
  • Monitor site compliance with safety standards and propose practical solutions.
  • Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and POWRA.
  • Conduct HSE audits and targeted inspections.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, illnesses, and injuries to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
  • Identify and solve complex challenges, driving continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the client HSE team, business leadership, HR, and training teams on safety initiatives.
  • Work on various HSE improvement projects.
  • Prepare presentations and analyse data with other subject matter experts.
  • Influence, coach, and drive impact through effective relationships.

Key Deliverables:

  • In-depth knowledge of HSEQ processes, practices, and systems.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret HSE data for informed decision-making.
  • Build professional relationships with internal and external staff, including senior leadership.
  • Support the development of proactive safety reporting and a continuous improvement safety culture.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Recognised Safety qualification (Level 6 NEBOSH diploma or equivalent).
  • Construction Industry specific training.
  • PTTLS Level 3 award (desirable).
  • H&S BSc/MSc and Chartered/Grad G/CMIOSH status (desirable).

Additional Qualifications/Experience:

  • Ideally 3 years of HSE experience in the nuclear sector or other highly regulated environments.
  • Experience in safety performance management and influencing construction managers and teams.
  • Demonstrated multitasking and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in managing performance, giving feedback, and implementing changes.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time and priority management.
  • High levels of IT literacy.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude with a focus on impact.
  • Ability to generate urgency and importance, remaining calm under pressure.
  • Passionate about the sector, embodying core values.
  • Growth mindset and keen to continue learning and developing skills.

Working Pattern and Location:

  • 37 hours per week.
  • Based in Bridgwater.
