This role will require UK Security Clearance.

The role is at a Principal Consultant level and will provide consultancy services for our customers (external and internal) and contribute to the companies further development and growth.

The role holder will assist the Delivery Manager with the management and development of Safety Engineering capability, in order to meet the business's targets and objectives.

Background knowledge;

  • In-depth knowledge of Defence Standards (in particular Def Stan 00-051 and 00-056);
  • In-depth knowledge of DSA02-DMR and other DSA publications on Health, Safety and Environmental Protection as appropriate to role;
  • In-depth knowledge of ASEMS, POSMS and POEMS processes;
  • Good knowledge of the UK MOD procurement processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical review of Maritime Safety Group's outputs;
  • On time and to budget delivery of project/task outputs;
  • Support to bids, proposals, analysis and report writing;
  • Development of support requirements, strategies and solutions;
  • Assist the Delivery Manager with recruiting talent to fill vacant and/or newly established positions;
  • Provide training and support to new staff, as directed by the Delivery Manager;
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to Capability Group staff, as directed by the Delivery Manager;
  • Engage and coordinate with other Delivery Managers, Project Managers and Heads of Departments across the business;
  • Provide reports on productivity and other performance indicators to the Delivery Manager (and/or Project Manager for project specific tasks);
  • Maintenance of inputs to CRM to inform the Safety Pipeline;
  • Assist the Delivery Manager with developing new business within existing accounts or prospective clients.
  • Identify and meet new and emerging market demands;
  • Develop innovation initiatives to support future growth.

  • Strong leadership and line management skills;
  • Effective resource and people manager with good communication skills, strong listening skills with a flexible and positive approach to work;
  • Able to present ideas successfully, offering strong negotiation and persuasion skills;
  • Exceptional report writing skills and high quality standards able to apply a logical and tailored approach to meet client needs;
  • Ability to engage with existing and potential customers, building trust and confidence.
