  • Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our client's team, focusing on the installation, servicing, testing, and commissioning of Variable Speed Drives and Control panels. This role requires travel to client sites across the UK and offers a competitive benefits package, including a company vehicle.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Service existing customers' drives and assist in small installations of MCC's, new for old Variable Speed Drives, and Soft Starters.
  • Attend breakdowns at customer sites for reactive maintenance.
  • Test and commission products offered by the company.
  • Mark up drawings with modifications and support the sales team.
  • Liaise with customers on-site regarding technical and progress work.
  • Participate in a rota for responsive breakdown callouts.
  • Assist with the hire business regarding installations, commissioning on-site, and ongoing operation of installed equipment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong engineering background with commercial awareness.
  • Experience in various industry sectors such as food & beverage, pharmaceutical, paper & pulp, petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, and mining & aggregate companies.
  • Minimum qualification of C & G Part 1, 2 & 3, HNC/ONC in electrical/electronic engineering.
  • IEE 18th Edition and Inspections & Testing Certificate (desirable).
  • Current JIB Skills Card or CSCS and Safety Passport.
  • Good working knowledge of 240 – 690 LV, single and 3 phase systems.
  • Essential knowledge of Direct online starting and Star Delta Starting.
  • PC knowledge (preferred) for commissioning software programmes.
  • Working knowledge of PLC, Soft Start & Variable Speed Drives, Instrumentation and 4-20mA Control (training provided).
  • Excellent communication skills.
