Internal Communications Specialist - Manchester

Full Time - 6 month FTC

£40,000

5 day working week (1-2 days in Manchester based office)

Start date ASAP

Role Overview:

The Communications Specialist will be responsible for supporting the creation, execution, management, and evaluation of internal communication initiatives. This role is essential in delivering effective communication strategies during a period of significant transformation, integration, and growth for the business.

The position requires ensuring that communications are timely, targeted, and aligned with the broader organizational goals, fostering a sense of connection and engagement across the company.

Responsibilities:

Communication Planning & Execution:

Collaborate with leaders and project teams to develop and execute communication plans for business and transformational initiatives.

Ensure all communications are transparent, clear, and empathetic, aligning with organizational changes.

Content Creation & Distribution:

Produce and disseminate various types of content, including emails, articles, intranet posts, and presentations, to convey key messages, celebrate achievements, and share best practices.

Align communication content with business strategy, values, and objectives to ensure consistency.

Channel & Campaign Management:

Assist in measuring and analyzing communication channels and campaigns by setting objectives and collecting data to identify areas for improvement.

Offer guidance and support for both company-wide and localized communication efforts.

Business-As-Usual Communications:

Support routine communication and engagement activities, including webinars, administrative tasks, and reporting.

Ensure all communications reflect the company's tone and style.

Requirements:

Experience & Qualifications:

Proven experience in a mid-level internal communications role.

A qualification in communications, marketing, or a related field is desirable.

Skills & Abilities:

Exceptional writing skills with the ability to simplify complex information into clear and engaging narratives.

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships quickly at all organizational levels.

Creative thinking with strong problem-solving abilities.

Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft O365, including SharePoint, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.

Experience with email platforms is a plus.

Experience in supporting communications related to people and culture initiatives (e.g., diversity, inclusion, wellbeing, ESG) is advantageous.
