Our client, a global financial services group with an integrated network spanning approximately 30 countries and regions, is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Lead to join their EMEA Finance: Tax Department. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, servicing the needs of individuals, institutions, corporates and governments. What you'll do:
As an Indirect Tax Lead, you will be responsible for all matters related to the indirect tax affairs of our client in EMEA. You will deliver front office advisory to the investment banking and global markets divisions, including product, transaction and deal review/approval. Additionally, you will have responsibility for the indirect tax accounting and compliance processes in the UK and oversight of all non-UK compliance obligations in EMEA. Your role will extend to providing indirect tax support to the regions with capacity to grow globally.
- Provide technical support and advice on all indirect tax matters encompassing products/transactions and businesses.
- Negotiate a revised partial exemption method for the UK VAT Group.
- Liaise with advisors across jurisdictions to deliver compliance obligations and advisory support.
- Review and provide indirect tax sign off for all new product and structure transaction proposals.
- Work closely with AP/AR/IT on system updates when required.
- Advise on indirect tax cost mitigation.
- Manage the preparation of jurisdictional annual adjustments, CGS and any other major compliance obligations.
- Manage all UK VAT accounting and balance sheet sign off including FX conversations, intercompany recoverability and quarterly journal processes.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Indirect Tax Lead position brings significant indirect tax experience along with knowledge of investment banking and FICC/equity products. You should hold a relevant professional qualification such as ACA/CTA. Being commercially minded with a demonstrable control mindset is essential for this role. Strong analytical skills are required along with the ability to communicate effectively and influence a variety of stakeholders. Experience in using PowerBI or similar data visualization tools would be advantageous.
- Significant indirect tax experience.
- Knowledge of investment banking and FICC/equity products.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACA/CTA).

- Experience in using PowerBI or similar data visualization tools is desirable.
- Understanding Alteryx or similar tools is desirable.
