Commercial Finance Manager

Due to a recent restructure within our Finance Team we are currently seeking a Commercial Finance Manager. This role will involve providing financial information, analysis, and insight to business heads, informing and helping them to achieve the business goals and strategy. As commercial finance manager, you will manage the day-to-day accounting and act as a role model for business improvement. In addition, you will also assist in identifying opportunities and developing new process improvement projects within finance and the wider business. What can you bring to Banham?

As a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), combined with your previous experience of business partnering in a commercial role and managing a team, and a record of establishing and improving financial process this will enable you to:

  • Retain, develop and progress a finance professional who will report into this role.
  • Be the business partner for our Operational Heads of Departments as well as the MD of our manufacturing business, helping them understand margins, efficiency opportunities and general financial performance to help them make decisions.
  • Perform monthly reviews with business heads to inform and help business achieve its goals.
  • Provide financial and commercial analysis to management of business units.
  • Be involved in pricing decisions with our commercial team, making sure the financial impact is understood and that there is insight driven decisions.
  • Facilitate in continuous improvement of the Group's monthly financial reporting process and controls
  • Responsible for the monthly consolidated management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow and Key metrics), including variance analysis, highlighting exceptions to aid business decisions.
  • Prepare and post of accounting journals where necessary.
  • Assist with annual budget and regular forecasting process.
  • Undertake regular review and substantiation of the Group balance sheet, and key controls.
  • Provide technical accounting expertise for the Group's accounting and financial policies.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the Group's year end audit to ensure it is delivered on time.

We are looking for someone with:

  • An inquisitive and analytical, with a problem-solving mind-set.
  • Previous experience of business partnering in a commercial role and managing a team.
  • A record of establishing and improving financial process.
  • Advanced modelling skills including budgets, forecasts and 5-year plans
  • Strong management accounts and financial accounts experience.
  • Experience of pricing structures and modelling profitability would be advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong attention to detail, analytical and numerical.
  • Experience of Sage X3 beneficial.
  • Able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
