Interim Project Manager - EU Research

Join a leading London university as an EU Research Project Manager for an 18 month contract. You will oversee all non-scientific aspects of a prestigious research project, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and university policies. Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, manage finances, organise events, and support dissemination activities. An opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic research environment.

  • Ensure compliance with funder's terms and university policies
  • Monitor project progress and financial resources
  • Manage day-to-day project administration tasks
  • Coordinate with colleagues on HR, procurement, legal matters
  • Act as primary point of contact for project partners and stakeholders
  • Provide administrative and financial information to project participants
  • Support project meetings, events, and dissemination activities
  • Maintain project information system and ensure data management compliance

The role is based in London and university offer a highly flexible working arrangement. The position is part time, 0.5 days per week, the organisation are flexible on how someone completes their hours.

  • Proven experience managing EU-funded research projects, demonstrating experience with large-scale projects, in line with the essential experience criteria.
  • Experience working with researchers in a Higher Education Institution setting, showcasing familiarity with the academic environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing financial resources, aligning with the essential experience criteria.
  • Excellent understanding of the EU research funding landscape and funder requirement
  • Outstanding team-working and collaboration skills, including coordination, negotiation, motivation, and a flexible approach to work
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to adapt communications to suit different audience
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, capable of coordinating information and processes involving multiple individuals or teams
  • Ability to manage a complex workload, multitask, and take initiative, aligning with the essential skills criteria.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to deliver on pre-agreed objectives with limited supervision.
