We are currently seeking to appoint a Design Manager to join our team in Stockport, Manchester.

The Role
As a Design Manager, you will assist in profitably managing the Edina UK Sales and Projects Business, ensuring that the Projects are designed in a cost effective way as measured by the management accounts. You will be responsible for all aspects related to engineering of the Sales and Projects business and accountable through the Head of Project and Design for the successful completion of the individual projects within budget. The responsibility includes producing mechanical, electrical and process engineering design packs to enable successful design, build and manufacture, commissioning, operation and servicing of Combined Heat and Power and Tri-generation Plants, both gas and diesel fuelled, Battery Energy Storage Schemes, and any future technologies Edina develop, while providing input and support throughout the full life cycle of a project from sales to service.
About You
To be considered as a Design Manager, you'll need:
- To hold, preferably, a minimum qualification to degree level in an engineering discipline with 2 years' experience in a similar role with a focus on power generation.
OR
- To hold an HND/C Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline with 3 years' experience in a similar role with a focus on power generation.
- To be a competent engineer with 2 years' experience in power generation, process engineering, electrical distribution and building services, pipework and ventilation design, CDM and health & safety.
- To have previous experience in successful technical management and development of Energy Projects.
- To have proven ability to manage engineering design activities in a business environment with safety critical responsibility.
- To have previous experience managing a team of Design Engineers.
- To have strong resource planning skills.
- To have effective IT skills and competent in Microsoft Office Packages and an understanding of AutoCAD or equivalent.
- To hold a full, valid driving licence.
Hours of Work:
Monday - Thursday 8.30 am - 5.00 pm, Friday 8.30 am - 4.00 pm
