English Teacher (Maternity Cover)

We are seeking an English Teacher to provide high-quality teaching and learning experiences for our students during a period of maternity cover. The successful candidate will be responsible for the learning outcomes of students and will report to the Head of English.
Day to Day of the role:
- Deliver high-quality and successful English lessons to all age groups.
- Act as a Personal Development (PD) Teacher, monitoring pupils' performance data.
- Address underachievement by contributing to Academy strategy and implementing department strategies.
- Provide assessments to students and parents as required and fulfil reporting obligations.
- Liaise with parents to ensure excellent attainment and support extended day activities.
- Manage student behaviour in classrooms and around the Academy.
- Adhere to all Academy policies and promote the Academy ethos of high achievement.
- Attend department and staff meetings, open evenings, and parents' evenings.
- Uphold the Academy's behaviour code and uniform regulations.
- Participate in staff training and development to ensure subject knowledge is up-to-date.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Ability to use ICT effectively to raise achievement.
- Experience in delivering high-quality teaching to pupils of all abilities.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
- Knowledge of developments in the National Curriculum and differentiated schemes of work.
