  • £13.50 - £14.95 dependant on experience

We are currently seeking a dedicated Housing Officer with experience in the housing sector and strong interpersonal skills. This role is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an established housing association, providing essential services to older residents and ensuring their well-being and safety within the community.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Provide intensive housing management services, including customer inductions, property viewings, timely void management, allocations, and managing low-level anti-social behaviour.
  • Apply knowledge of tenancy law to support customers in sustaining their tenancy/lease and independence.
  • Manage local alarm systems, ensuring all equipment is working effectively and responding to social alarm calls or other emergencies as required.
  • Monitor estate contracts, conduct inspections of communal areas, and address any issues related to fire risk, health & safety, and repairs.
  • Monitor budgets, including service charges, and maintain financial regulations.
  • Engage with customers on scheme issues, encouraging participation in decisions affecting their services.
  • Assess and monitor residents' needs and well-being, providing support and advice, and signposting to other teams or agencies when necessary.
  • Respond to safeguarding or well-being concerns in line with policy, ensuring customer safety.
  • Create engagement plans for individual schemes to support community cohesion and well-being.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships across all teams and with external agencies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Housing Officer or similar role within the housing sector.
  • Understanding of the needs of older people and promoting independence.
  • Excellent customer service skills and flexibility.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Competent in IT and administrative tasks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and external partners.
  • DBS check will be required.
  • Full driving licence and use of a car as travel is essential.
