Description

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Group Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. Reporting directly to the UK Financial Controller, the Group Accountant will play a pivotal role in providing technical expertise, leading the group consolidation process, and delivering insightful financial information across the business. Key responsibilities include preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management, assisting with forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis, and supporting decision-making to ensure long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the UK and Group consolidation process.
  • Prepare and manage holding company accounts.
  • Administer the intercompany matrix and oversee the intercompany process.
  • Prepare and present the Board/Reporting pack.
  • Manage and review year-end statutory packs.
  • Coordinate the year-end audit process.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Provide support for budgeting and reforecasting activities.
  • Offer IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) support.
  • Manage insurance-related tasks and processes.
  • Oversee compliance with the plastic packaging tax.
  • Complete and submit ONS (Office for National Statistics) surveys.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Calculate the quarterly payments on account (POA) for Corporation Tax.
  • Prepare and analyse cash flow and foreign exchange (FX) forecasts.
  • Assist with month-end financial processes and reporting.

Profile

A qualified accountant with strong technical skills (IFRS, UK GAAP, Consolidations).
