Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location: Leavesden
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 (depending on experience)
Summary of Position:
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our Client, a well-established practice accountancy firm. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in managing the financial records and transactions for clients.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial transactions and records, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger entries, payroll, and financial statements.
- Bank reconciliation.
- Complete month-end accrual and prepayments.
- Complete VAT returns.
- Generate regular financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for clients.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in financial records and implement solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide support to senior accountants and managers in various accounting tasks and projects.
Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes:
- Experience working in an accountancy practice environment.
- Several years of experience in bookkeeping and covering the duties above.
- IT Literate, with experience using Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, AutoEntry, and Dext.
- An eye for detail and the ability to produce consistently accurate work.
- Ability to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
