About the Role: We are thrilled to offer a rare opportunity for a seasoned HR & Recruitment Officer to join a distinguished company. Their head office is set in the heart of beautiful Hertfordshire, provides a unique and inspiring work environment. You will play a pivotal role in owning the internal recruitment process and supporting the HR Manager, ensuring their HR services are consistently delivered to circa 300 staff across three sites. Your meticulous attention to detail will help maintain our high standards in policies and procedures.

This company offer a host of quality benefits together with a salary circa £40,000 including:

  • Flexible start time to suit 9am - 5pm or 8.30am - 4.30pm
  • 35 hour working week with a healthy, delicious lunch taken over one hour break
  • Annual salary review each June with a bonus payable in May depending on both Individual and Company performance
  • 25 days holiday per annum (with up to 4 days to be reserved for Christmas closure)
  • Pension offered at 5% on a matched scheme, increases to 6% after 5 years' service

  • Non-contributory death in service cover paid at 4 times basic salary

Key Responsibilities:

Internal Recruitment Coordination:

  • Secure internal approval for vacancies
  • Craft job descriptions
  • Manage relationships with recruitment agencies
  • Engage with internal and direct candidates
  • Coordinate interviews, provide feedback, and manage outcomes
  • Extend job offers, gather on boarding documentation, and conduct reference checks

HR Support:

  • Deliver on-site induction training for new hires at each location
  • Oversee training and development initiatives
  • Administer the Apprenticeship Levy Fund, supporting early-stage apprenticeships and enhancing staff qualifications
  • Foster relationships with training providers
  • Handle leaver and retirement processes
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and implement necessary policy changes
  • Assist with disciplinary and grievance meetings

As our ideal Candidate you:

  • Would be expected to hold a professional HR qualification (CIPD pref)
  • Bring experience in internal HR and recruitment (essential)
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Are Proficient in MS Office and HR systems

Additional Information:

This role is primarily office-based with some flexibility after the initial three-month period.

Own transport is essential due to the remote office location and to travel to other sites occasionally.
