Legal Cashier - HYBRID Birmingham

A fantastic, well leading Birmingham City Centre firm, known to us as a client for many years are keen to add an experienced Legal Cashier to their already impressive team.
Based in well-equipped offices in an impressive setting, close to commuter links, the Legal Cashier will benefit from working with a cohesive accounts team and a team of Solicitors, Legal Executives and Paralegals to deliver a high quality of a full range of Legal Cashier duties.
This role would be ideal for a candidate who has at least 2+ years experience in a Legal Cashier role, and for someone who wishes to take on more responsibility as the role progresses.
Duties and responsibilities of the Legal Cashier:
- Checking bills and completion statements
- Checking balances due to clients
- Calculation of interest
- Posting bills and adding and paying anticipated disbursements
- Posting and printing cheques and getting them signed
- Preparing and posting banking
- Taking credit card payments
- Dealing with queries from fee earners and support staff
- Client to office transfers
- Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Client and office accounts postings and reconciliation
- Knowledge of Solicitors accounts rules desirable
- Experience of processing Online banking transactions
- Daily Banking duties
- VAT compliance and money laundering regulations
- At least 2 years experience working within a legal accounts department
Skills required:
- Excellent numeracy skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently on own initiative and within a team
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritise workload
- Excellent communication skills and experience of working with legal software packages
- Competent with Microsoft products
- A Legal Cashier background of 3+ years (Minimum)
